More than 15,000 young people in Latin America and the Caribbean have already received training
One month after we opened the contents of Hamburger University, the number of participants exceeded our expectations.
This is a unique opportunity in history, through which we have made available to all young people in the region courses on: Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship, Emotional Intelligence, Customer Service and Health and Wellbeing.
“We are very proud of the results we are obtaining from this initiative. Not only did we exceed the goals we had set well in advance, but we are receiving record-breaking visits to our Recipe of the Future platform. For all of us at Arcos Dorados, this was a big bet and a great challenge, which day by day shows us that we were on the right path providing the solutions that young people in Latin America and the Caribbean were needing.”
Gabriel Serber, Director of Social Commitment and Sustainable Development at Arcos Dorados.
In both languages, the topics most selected by the participants show great variations, although Emotional Intelligence remains the course-of-first-choice, with 33% of participants registering in the course delivered in Spanish and 28% in Portuguese. In second place, which reveals differences, we find the Personal Finance course with 25% of participants having registered in the course delivered in Spanish and Entrepreneurship with 24% of participants having registered in the course delivered in Portuguese. Completing the podium were Customer Service with 17% of participants having registered in Spanish and Personal Finance with 23% of participants having registered in Portuguese.
“Undoubtedly, the results never cease to amaze us. Not only because of the number of people who are accessing the content that we are disseminating together with Arcos Dorados, but also because of the selections that are being made in terms of subject matter. Also, because we are receiving interested people from all over the world, beyond Latin America. We are proud to be able to accompany this type of initiative and make sure we collaborate with the future of young people around the world.”
Josane Juliao, Dean of Hamburger University LATAM
The initiative arose as a solution to one of the main concerns that young people in Latin America and the Caribbean highlighted in an opinion study carried out by the Company together with the consulting firm Trendsity. In this research, 61% of respondents stated that they consider that training is necessary to strengthen their skills and compensate the lack of experience in the search for a first, formal job or a better job. Among the topics they consider important to deepen in, stood out Teamwork and leadership with the 73%, followed by Innovation and Entrepreneurship with the 50% and Sales and Customer Service with the 44% among others.
