We opened the first McDonald’s restaurant in Chile built with sustainable wood

In Temuco, we’ve taken another step toward building a more sustainable future. We opened the first McDonald’s in Chile constructed using wood modules sourced from responsibly managed forests—an innovative project developed in partnership with the Company Arauco to reduce our environmental impact.

Located at Avenida Alemania 01099, this new restaurant is the third in La Araucanía region and represents our ongoing commitment to efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.

Sustainable construction with a positive impact

Thanks to its modular design, the restaurant was built in just 120 days, using wood certified by FSC and PEFC. The module assembly was completed in only 10 days, significantly reducing environmental and noise pollution, and minimizing disruption to the community.

Our sustainability commitment is reflected in every corner of the restaurant: it features 23 resource-saving measures, including energy-efficient lighting, solar water heaters, UV-filtering window films to improve climate control efficiency, and high-performance equipment.

We’re now open to welcome the community, offering all the services we’re known for: Drive-Thru, a children’s play area, McCafé, and delivery service.
